In addition, an aviation medical examination is required in order to fly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>When does the training take place?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From mid-March until the end of October, practical training \u2013 in other words, flying \u2013 takes place on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. If visibility is poor, it is raining, or the wind is too strong, theoretical instruction is provided instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Where does the training take place?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">Both practical and theoretical training take place at the <a href=\"https:\/\/relaunch.flugsport-wien.at\/verein\/flugplatz\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"60\" target=\"_self\">Airfield<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How Long Does the Training Take?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If a student pilot takes part in flight operations regularly, it usually takes around 25 flying days to complete the examination flights. Before that, students complete around 70 to 90 flights in a two-seat glider with one of our flight instructors, followed by 30 solo flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How Much Does Gliding Cost?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">With around EUR 800 to 1,000 per year, you can spend plenty of time in the air. The best way is to call us <a href=\"https:\/\/relaunch.flugsport-wien.at\/kontakt\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"28\" target=\"_self\">here<\/a>  and arrange a date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Are There Any Mandatory Duties or Required Working Hours in the Club?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are many different ways to contribute to the club. From managing launch operations and operating the winch to helping in the workshop or, later on, becoming a flight instructor, there is something for everyone. We do not require members to complete a fixed number of working hours, but we do expect each member\u2019s contribution, at their own discretion, to be in a reasonable proportion to their flying activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Where Can I See Which Flights Have Taken Place?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph translation-block\">Every glider is equipped with a GPS logger. Cross-country flights are usually uploaded to the official website of the Austrian gliding championships and can be viewed by anyone <a href=\"http:\/\/sis.streckenflug.at\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welche M\u00f6glichkeiten gibt es beim Segelfliegen?
