What are the requirements for motor flight training?
A minimum age of 17 years. In addition, an aviation medical examination (Class II Medical) is required.
How much does power flight training cost?
To obtain a private pilot's licence, you need at least 40 flight hours, 10 of which must be solo. That is roughly 100 take-offs and landings. Flying to and from various airfields is also required. This results in costs of about EUR 8,000.
When does the training take place?
Throughout the whole year. However, fog, rain, snow or strong winds prevent training. The dates for when and where flights take place are arranged directly with the flight instructor.
Where does the training take place?
The training takes place as part of our flight school at Wiener Neustadt Airfield Instead. Depending on the number of student pilots, the theoretical training is carried out together with other flight schools.
How long does private pilot training take?
Depending on the availability of the flight instructor and the student, as well as weather conditions, it usually takes between 1 and 2 years to obtain the licence.
What happens next after passing the exam for the aeroplane pilot licence?
With the private pilot licence, flights with the Diamond DA20 Katana and the Diamond HK36 Super Dimona are possible in our club. It is important to stay in practice immediately after training. Subsequently, obtaining a tow pilot rating to pull gliders into the air is also possible.
